# Mathematical Methods 1

Mathematical Methods 1 will teach you how to use mathematical tools needed for following studies. This subject focuses particularly on working with functions. During lectures, you will learn properties of mathematical functions and relationships between them, and then you will practice computing with concrete numbers and function during seminars.

## What are you going to learn

1. Numerical sets, mapings, functions - Understand the basics of sets, numerical sets and their properties, and introduction to the functions.
2. Elementary functions - Understanding of elemetary functions, their properties.
3. Limit of a functions, continuity of a functions - Understanding of the definition of the limit and the definition of the continous functions.
4. Derition of a function - Understanding of the definition of the derivation and its interpretation.
5. Properties of continuous functions - Explanation properties of continuous functions.
6. Function of multiple variables - Introduction to the function of multiple variables.
7. Antiderivatives - From derivatives to antiderivatives - basics of integrals.
8. The integral - Understanding of the Newton and Riemann integral.
9. Sequences and series - Understanding of the definition of sequence and series and their properties.
10. Properties of infinitive series - Introduction to the theory of infinitive series.
11. Complex numbers - Understanding of the definition of complex numbers and their description.
12. Applications - Examples of applications of math in the MA1.

## How the course is organized

### Full time study

The course consists of 12 lectures and 12 workshops, each lasting 1,5 hours.

### Part time study

The course consists of 4 tutorials, each lasting 3 hours.
