The aim of this course is to give students basic and practical skills in finance literacy. The system of personal finance is a complex of decision-making process, which is at the beginning usually disadvantageous for client. Course is practically focused on real problems and financial instruments and products. Students will learn how to find relevant information about financial products.
What are you going to learn
Finance in context - financial literacy, financial management, debt trap, RPSN, loans and credits.
Housing financing - mortgage, building society account, annuity.
Investments and investing - yields, investments risks, money market instruments, diversification of investment portfolio, bank accounts, saving accounts, term deposit, collective investments funds, bonds, commodities.
Insurance - life insurance, general insurance, accident insurance, property insurance, liability insurance.
Introduction to financial mathematics - simple and compound interest, investment horizon and duration.
How the course is organized
Full time study
The course consist of 6 lectures and 6 seminars, each lasting 1,5 hours.
Part time study
The course is taught only in full time study form for part time students.
